FIRST QUARTER: the maximum drawdown was limited to 50% or $136,815.50. Our first quarter was completed by August 16, 2021. The 1st quarter grant was allocated as follows:

Currently Attending students as of 6-30-2021.

  • 87 pell-eligible students currently attending: $880.65 per student
  • 47 non-pell eligible students currently attending: $698.63 per student

Graduates as of 6-30-2021

  • 25 pell-eligible graduates: $437.81 per student
  • 10 non-pell eligible graduates: $273.63 per student

Withdrawals as of 6-30-2021

  • 20 pell-eligible drops: $581.47 per student
  • 8 non-pell eligible drop: $256.53 per student

SECOND & THIRD QUARTERS: The remaining 50% of the grant fund began disbursement on 1-4-2022. Priority was given to currently attending students who have not received any HEERF II Funding prior. The students who fell into this quarter typically have a start date of October 2021 – March 2022.

Information for Students

The CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund-IHE/Student Aid provides funding to institutions to provide emergency financial aid grants to students whose lives have been disrupted, many of whom are facing financial challenges and struggling to make ends meet. Students cannot apply for assistance directly from the U.S. Department of Education but should contact their institutions for further information and guidance. Institutions have the responsibility of determining how grants will be distributed to students, how the amount of each student grant is calculated, and the development of any instructions or directions that are provided to students about the grant.

Certification & Agreement

Robert Fiance Beauty Schools acknowledges that the institution has signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification & Agreement. Per the Agreement, the institution will use no less than 50% of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Student Eligibility
  • Eligibility is limited to students who meet all of following qualifications:
    • Currently attending status between March 13, 2020 and June 1, 2020
      • Update 11/1/2020: In accordance with the Dept’s update, Robert Fiance is extending eligibility to students who have enrolled and started school after June 1, 2020.
    • Enrollment in a Title IV eligible program of 600 clock hours or more
    • U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens (permanent residents/green card holders)
    • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED
    • Possession of a valid social security number
    • Registration with the Selective Service for males
    • N0n-default status with Federal Financial Aid
  • Eligible students do not need to be receiving or using Title IV Federal Financial Aid grants and loans for their programs at Robert Fiance Beauty Schools (for example, cash-paying students), but must otherwise be eligible to apply for Financial Aid by meeting the qualifications above. If you do not have a FAFSA on file with Robert Fiance and you are unsure of whether you may qualify for Title IV financial aid, please complete a FAFSA online to determine your eligibility.  If you are receiving Financial Aid loans and/or grants, you are probably eligible for the HEERF grants.
Application Process

The school has sent a DocuSign application to all students who meet the criteria above. The application provides guidance and information. Upon receipt of the signed and completed application, the school will review your application to confirm eligibility and then mail a check directly to the student’s address on record.

Do I have to repay the emergency financial aid grant I received from my university through the CARES Act?

No. The funds provided by the CARES Act are grants, so they do not need to be repaid.

I am a student who received an emergency financial aid grant from my university through the CARES Act. Is this grant includible in my gross income?

What can emergency financial aid grants provided by the CARES Act be used for?

Are there fees associated with the grant funds?

There is not a fee for receiving the grant funds, however there may be a fee imposed by your bank or retailer when cashing the check.

Can this be applied towards my balance at School?

No, these funds are designated by the U. S. Government to be used by our students for emergency situations caused by COVID-19 and are not to be retained as payment on your account.
