How Often Should Your Clients Wait Between Coloring Appointments?

It’s a question many of us have asked during our own hair appointments, and it’s a question that your own clients will begin to ask you themselves. While there’s no specific rule for how often individuals should get their hair colored, as stylists, it’s our job to ensure that we take care of our clients’ hair on our end.

There are many different hair types and colors. The length of time between a permanent color and a temporary color will differ. Temporary colors are not meant to last in hair over a long period of time, so if your client wants a temporary color then they will want to come in more often for touchups.

We also have to remember that hair grows differently for everyone. Some clients will have faster hair growth than others, meaning they will need to come in more often than who have slower hair growth.

As always, we want our clients to have the best experience possible each time they are in our chairs. It’s important to remember that every individual is different and will have distinct preferences. Consider having a one-on-one discussion with each of your clients to ensure you’re giving them the best experience possible during and after each appointment.
