How to Avoid Damaged Hair

We love our hair, but sometimes we cause unintentional damage that could have been avoided. Hair damage can lead to breakage and frizz as well as cause hair loss, so it’s best to stop it before it ever happens.

Here are some tips to help keep your hair healthy and you happy:

Be mindful in the pool:

Summer isn’t over yet, but we still have to remember that pool chemicals can really cause damage to your hair. Showering and conditioning directly after swimming can help promote full, healthy strands. If you have a swim cap, don’t be afraid to wear it. Your hair will thank you.

Try to air dry:

We know, sometimes you just can’t leave the house without using your blow dryer or hot iron. If possible, at least try to air dry your hair on the weekends and on the lowest possible heat setting. This will give your hair the much-needed break it needs, minus the harmful breakage.

Know your hair:

Is your hair natural? Do you color it? Is it fine or is it thick and wavy? Everyone’s hair is different, which is why you should be using a shampoo and conditioner specifically created for your hair type. Take time to research the best products for you and your hair so you can avoid any harm to it in the future.
