The Best Tips for Healthy Winter Skin

There’s nothing better than a warm cup of cocoa and a fluffy sweater, but, let’s face it, winter weather can be terrible on our skin.

The good news is there a lot of things we can do on our end to ensure our skin stays moisturized and healthy during the cooler winter months. Here are our best tips for healthy winter skin this season.

  1. Limit Your Hot Water Intake | Like it or not, your skin fairs much better with short, warm showers instead of long, hot ones. Hands feeling dry this winter? The water you’re washing them with is most likely too hot. Use lukewarm water and apply moisturizer right after to lock in water.
  2. Modify Your Skin Routine | Harsher weather calls for a heavier moisturizer to keep your skin looking fresh in the winter. Switch to a cream cleanser during this season of the year to help prevent dry and cracked skin.
  3. Stay Hydrated | Your skin needs to be hydrated, this is especially true during the dry winter months. If you suffer from skin problems during cooler weather, then you may want to consider changing up your diet and adding more supplements to your life. And don’t forget the SPF! Even though the sun may not be out as much, your skin still needs protection from UV rays.
